Many patients’ complaints having gum infection and swelling, gum bleeding, bad breath, loose teeth all these conditions associated with gum disease. When we eat something, food particles stuck between the teeth and if the teeth not cleaned properly, it stimulates bacterial infection creating chronic inflammation of the gums and adjacent tissue. Gum disease is the major cause of tooth loss in about 70% of adult and at the same time affecting nearly 80% of people.
What Cause Gum Disease?
The food stuck between the teeth stimulate bacteria to produce a thin layer of a sticky, colorless bacterial waste known as "plaque" continuously formed on the surface of the tooth near the gum line. This is the primary cause of gum disease. If this plaque isn’t removed properly during brushing and flossing, it is converted into a hard, dense and rough substance called calculus, which is to be remove and only can be removed professionally. Plaque produces toxins infecting gum and start destroying bone followed by tooth loss.
Gum disease cause breakdown of the gum and are pulled away from the teeth, creating a space within gum where more plaque, bacteria, and toxins start to accumulate. As the condition progresses, the infection grows deeper and start destroying supporting bone followed by loosening, shredding teeth or requires extraction.
